Animal Shelter Launches 'Yappy Hour - Rescue Me Monday'
The Gwinnett County Animal Shelter has launched a new program designed to facilitate the efforts of local rescue groups.
The program, "Yappy Hour - Rescue Me Monday," will be held each Monday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. During "Yappy Hour," the shelter will allow licensed rescue groups to pull animals. The first session was held June 11. During that session, 16 of the 40 animals available for rescue were taked by two rescue organizations.
"We are hopeful that this new program will lead to more animals finding their way to good homes," wrote Gwinnett County Police Department Cpl. Jake Smith in a press release.
