Two Dacula cases were scheduled to be heard during the Oct. 2 Gwinnett County Planning Commission meeting:
- RZC2012-00013 (Dollar General case) – The applicant has requested that a 1.70-acre property in the 1900 block of Harbins Road be rezoned to allow for the development of a Dollar General store. The planning department recommended denial and notes the property lies within a rural estate character area that allows for limited commercial activity in order to preserve a rural setting. This case was tabled last month and, during the Oct. 2 meeting, was tabled again. The case is now scheduled to be heard at the Nov. 7 Gwinnett County Planning Commission meeting.
- CIC2012-00011 – The applicant requested a change in conditions for a 13.92-acre piece of property located in the 4300 block of Hog Mountain Road. The applicant requested the standards for the planned Mountain View Plantation subdivision be revised to remove the requirement that homes have three or four sides brick. The planning department recommended denial of the request. During the meeting, the applicant asked that the case be denied without prejudice. The Gwinnett County Planning Commission subsequently voted 9-0 to recommend denial with prejudice.
The next meeting of the Gwinnett County Planning Commission will be held Wednesday, Nov. 7, at the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center, 75 Langley Drive in Lawrenceville, at 7 p.m.
