The Atlanta All-star team from Hamilton Mill Golf Course in Dacula placed second at the PGA Junior League Golf Championship that took place Sept. 14-16 at Cog Hill Golf and Country Club in Chicago. The defending World Series Champions in the league came in a close second behind a team from San Francisco, Calif. Each team played three head-to-head matches with the championship decided by the team with the best overall record. The Hamilton Mill team finished 2-1 with an overall score of 23. The team had an undefeated regular season record of 6 -0, with a total overall team scores of 58 to 2.
To earn their spot in the National Championship, the Hamilton Mill team won the Mid Atlantic Region with a record of 3 -0 and a total score of 35 to 1.
Highlights from the National Championship include:
- Alex Markham and Jacob Bayer were 22 under in 27 holes at the championship.
- Cameron Stokes hit a 271 yard drive in the driving contest at the championship.
