Fundraising Effort to Promote Jail Dogs Program
Dacula Patch blogger Amy Jackson has launched an online campaign to raise funds to promote Gwinnett County's Jail Dogs program.
The Jail Dogs program pairs rescued dogs with inmates at the Gwinnett County Jail. The inmates care for the dogs and train them with the goal of eventually finding homes for dogs that might have otherwise been euthanized at an animal shelter.
Jackson's goal is to raise $6,000 to help fund her efforts to promote the Jail Dogs program.
In a post on her fundraising page, Jackson wrote, "It's hard to believe that everyday wonderful dogs are killed that could be saved by programs like these. I am grateful that I am able to visit the jail, shoot videos of the new dogs, and help them get adopted, which helps more dogs get saved."
