Gerard Prep Archery Team Qualifies for State Tournament

The Archery Team from Gerard Preparatory School has qualified to compete in the State Tournament on Tuesday, March 21st, 2012.

In its inaugural year (2011-12), the GPS Archery Team has already accomplished greatness.  Qualifying for state is quite a feat, taking into account that the team is made up of students in 4th-10th grades, competing against teams with only 9th-12th graders.  Also, the GPS team does not have an indoor practice facility.  There motto has become, "shooting against the wind."  Sunshine or cold, calm or windy, these students practice week after week without fail.

In addition to team qualification, eight students have qualified individually - Brielle Lubbess (10th grade), Josh Daniel (10th grade), Will Ringold (8th grade), Sarah Riner (7th grade), Eddie Alvarez (7th grade), Olivia Sage (6th grade), Evan Lubbess (6th grade), and Herbert Shoulders (6th grade).

CONGRATS and GOOD LUCK AT STATE!
