Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta Receive 3.1 Million Boxes of Cookies for Distribution

On Saturday, Feb. 9, eight Greater Atlanta Locations received 3.1 million boxes of Girl Scout Cookies for distribution. Atlantic Relocation Systems, alone, received 275,000 boxes of Girl Scout cookies for members to sort and deliver to their loyal customers.

Everyone knows how tasty Girl Scout Cookies are, but a lot of the people don’t realize what a Girl Scout learns from selling them. By creating a plan, interacting with customers, and working as part of a team, girls learn five skills: goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills, and business ethics—aspects essential to leadership, to success, and to life. Through the Girl Scout programs, girls are able to start their own business, travel the world, and give back to their community while on the path to earn a Girl Scout Silver, Bronze or Gold Award.
