Reed Awarded Gregory Charles Johnson Scholarship at UGA
Dacula resident Alexander Grant Reed, son of Craig Reed and Dacula Patch editor Kristi Reed, has been awarded the Gregory Charles Johnson scholarship for the 2012-2013 academic year.
The Gregory Charles Johnson scholarship is awarded to a University of Georgia upperclassman registered with the UGA Disability Resource Center (DRC). Preference is given to students with a traumatic injury or physical disability. Reed, a 2010 graduate of Mill Creek High School, was paralyzed as a result of an October 2008 car accident.
A science education major, Reed is entering his junior year at UGA. He plans to pursue a career as a physics teacher and was the 2010 recipient of the Gwinnett County Public Schools' Alton C. Crews Teaching Scholarship.
Reed will be recognized at the 11th annual DRC Student and Faculty Recognition ceremony scheduled for Nov. 5, 2012.
