I am a big Andy Griffith fan. Naturally I liked him as Sheriff Taylor and thought he was hilarious in "No Time for Sergeants," but he was a great stand up comedian too. Listen to him explain football: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oNxLxTZHKM8 "What it was, was football."

How was Andy only 86? I thought he was 86 when I was in high school almost 20 years ago.

I believe I must have watched every episode of The Andy Griffith Show at least 10 times. It was the soundtrack of my youth. Andy, Barney, Aunt Bea, Opie, Floyd, Goober, Otis, Thelma Lou, Ellie, Helen, Ernest T. Bass, The Darlings, Howard, Clara Edwards, Rafe Hollister; what an amazing cast of characters. Most have gone on to heaven's front porch, hope they leave a light on for me.

You forgot Gomer! I liked him and I also enjoyed his spinoff "Gomer Pyle, USMC."Sgt. Carter was great. I guess Andy Griffith probably thought that show up since it was based on his "No Time for Sergeants" movie.
