Bar Patron Gives ‘The Mean Mug,’ Punches Two Men in Jaw

Altercation at Dos Copas results in two men getting punched in the face by a third man.

Two Buford men said an unidentified male punched them in the face during an April 26 altercation at Dos Copas.

Police were called to the Hamilton Mill Road restaurant just before 2 a.m. last Thursday. One of the victims said he was sitting inside the bar when he noticed a man staring at him from across the room. According to the victim, the man was giving him “the mean mug.” The victim approached the male and inquired if everything was alright. At that point, according to the police report, the male with the mean mug punched the victim in the jaw.

The victim told the responding officer he “took the guy down” before other bar patrons separated them. The second victim said he approached the two men to “assess the situation” when the mean-mugged male punched him in the jaw and then left the bar.

Both victims said the male left Dos Copas in a black BMW 7 series passenger car. The victims described their attacker as a white male with a shaved head, approximately 6-foot tall and weighing 200 pounds. At the time of the attack, the male was wearing a white polo shirt.

The first victim had no visible injuries, but complained of jaw pain. The second victim had a red mark on his face which the officer noted was in “the shape of a fist and had lining in it consistent with the fingers of a closed fist.”

Two witnesses confirmed the victims’ account of the incident.

At the time of the incident, the bar manager was unable to access surveillance video. The case is listed as active.
