BCS Rankings: Agree or Disagree?

Unsurprisingly, the Crimson Tide leads the poll, but are the other teams ranked where they should be?

The initial BCS rankings of the 2012 football season are out and, not surprisingly, Alabama is ranked No. 1. The undefeated Crimson Tide (6-0) is also ranked at the top of the AP and USA Today poll.

But what about the other teams?

Oregon, which is currently ranked No. 2 in both the AP and USA Today poll, came in at No. 3 in the BCS. The second best team in the country according to the computers and the polls? Florida.

The SEC was well represented in the BCS top 10. In addition to holding the top two slots with Alabama and Florida, the SEC also had LSU at No. 6 and South Carolina at No. 7.

Georgia narrowly missed making the top 10 and is currently ranked No. 11. Other top 25 SEC teams in the BCS include Mississippi State (No. 12) and Texas A&M (No. 18).

After South Carolina rebounds this week and ends their run, Florida will drop back to where they belong...outside the top 10.

I was genuinely surprised that Florida landed in the No. 2 spot. I bet those Ducks fans are some kind of peeved.

Doesn't Florida play Alabama this weekend? If so, Kristi's beloved Crimson Tide will put a stop to this Florida #2 BCS nonsense. My not so beloved (at the moment) Auburn War Eagle Tigers will never be able to out recruit Alabama. Why? When a high school player shows up on Alabama's radar that recruit fully understands that playing football and winning National Championships at BAMA go hand in hand.

Jimmy - It's the third Saturday in October. That means it is time for Tennessee to take its beating. We don't play Florida this year unless they make it to the SEC championship game.
