Candidate Forum Set for Feb. 15
Neighborhood association hosting candidates for BOC chair.
Candidates for the chair of the Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners will have the opportunity to address citizens at a Feb. 15 forum.
The event, hosted by the Alliance of Concerned Citizens of Old Peachtree (ACCOP), will be held at The Bridge Community Church, 2026 Braselton Highway in Buford.
The ACCOP is comprised of neighborhood homeowner’s associations in the area surrounding the intersection of Braselton Highway and Old Peachtree Road. The group was formed in 2002 to represent local residents and neighborhoods in matters relating to property zoning issues according to ACCOP member Jim Regan.
“ACCOP recognizes growth and development will continue to occur in our area,” Regan said. “We seek to affect growth and development through direct negotiations with developers and with county officials to maintain the area’s quality of life and property values.”
Regan said the group represents seven area subdivisions that include about 900 families. Subdivisions in the group include Peachtree Woods, Turtle Creek, Lakes of Old Peachtree, Peachcrest, Holland Park, Kings Valley and Wynnfield Point.
The Feb. 15 forum will include introductory speeches by the candidates followed by audience questions and a meet and greet.
Candidates Charlotte Nash, Larry Gause, William Costa and Duane Kissel are expected to attend. The event will begin at 7 p.m.
