Car Wash Vandalism Caught on Video

Two suspects attempted, but failed to steal money out of a machine at a Braselton Highway car wash.

The owner of the Super Car Wash, located near the intersection of Gravel Springs Road and Braselton Highway, estimates it will cost $3,000 to replace the machine damaged during a Dec. 30 theft attempt.

The owner contacted Gwinnett County Police after discovering the damage and reviewing surveillance video of the incident. According to the police report, a silver Toyota minivan pulled up next to the vacuum around 10 p.m. on Dec. 30. One male exited the vehicle and appeared to stand watch while the other male attempted to pry open the front door of the machine.

The two men were unsuccessful in their attempt to pry open the door, but, according to the car wash owner, caused enough damage that the whole machine must be replaced. The owner said the machine contained approximately $50 at the time of the theft attempt.

The owner advised he planned to contact the security company to see if they could determine the plate number of the suspects’ vehicle.

The case is listed as active.
