Car Window Smashed at Little Mulberry Park
Victim’s purse stolen, thief attempted to use debit cards.
A Hoschton woman had her purse and debit cards stolen while visiting Little Mulberry Park on July 8.
The woman parked in the Fence Road lot around 8 p.m. When she returned a little over an hour later, her front passenger side window had been smashed and her purse taken. In addition to the victim’s credit cards, the purse also contained her Social Security card, her son’s Social Security card, her drivers license, the spare key to her vehicle, prescription medication, a disk for a camera and her insurance card.
When the victim called her bank to cancel the debit cards, she learned the thief or thieves had attempted to make two withdrawals totaling $300 from her checking account. Both attempts failed. The thief or thieves then tried to make a balance inquiry that was also denied. All three transactions were initiated at a Citgo station located at 239 Grayson Highway.
The case is listed as active.

I'm sorry that this woman had her personal property stolen. I know she feels horrible and stupid for leaving her purse in her car.. Hindsight is 20/20 and I'm sure she will never make that mistake again. It all could have been avoided so easily.
Unfortunately, we don't live in Mayberry. There is no such place on earth. It's not 1950 anymore. We would like to think there is good in everyone, but that's not how it is. There are jerks out there who believe that what's ours is theirs....especially when only a piece of glass separates them from it. There are so many ways to prevent this from happening. First and foremost, quit leaving an open invitation for thieves to help themselves. But, if you insist on leaving your purse in your car, leave all credit/debit cards at home if you know you're just going to the park/gym. Carry your drivers license/etc. somewhere on your person while you're doing your thang.
This world is filled with people who have no morals and no boundaries. It's time to wake up and start acting like we know what's going on around us. You don't have to be paranoid...just aware.
