Council to Vote on Abandoning Road Project
An alternative plan for Second Avenue was approved last month.
The Dacula City Council will decide Thursday night if the road project originally approved for Second Avenue should be abandoned.
The alternative project, which is expected to cost more than $100,000 less, was approved last month. The original project was approved in August of 2011.
According to Mayor Jimmy Wilbanks, the cost savings from abandoning the original project and proceeding with the alternative plan will be applied to other road projects that are part of the city’s transportation plan.
The Dacula City Council will hold its monthly meeting on Thursday, Sept. 6 at 7 p.m. The council meets at Dacula City Hall, 442 Harbins Road.
