Customer Punches Restaurant Manager Over Quarters

Manager assaulted after man gets upset about a machine that had taken his child’s quarters.

A local restaurant manager was punched, pushed and scratched after a customer got upset over a machine that had taken his child’s quarters.

Police were called to Del Rio Mexican Grill on the evening of May 12 after the manager was assaulted. According to the victim, a white bald male customer approached him and said a machine took his child’s quarters. The victim advised the man to go to the cashier’s station to get a refund. The customer reportedly became upset because the manager did not retrieve the money for him.

The victim said the male walked off, but returned a short time later and accused the victim of “not doing a good job.” The victim and the man began arguing. During the course of the argument, the man allegedly pushed, punched and scratched the victim. Two servers at the restaurant dragged the male out of the restaurant to the parking lot. Witnesses reported seeing the male leave in a white passenger vehicle.

The victim was able to provide police with a tag number and the name from the credit card used to pay the man’s bill.

The case is listed as active.

The incident is the second within the past month in which a white bald man is accused of assault at a local bar.  On April 26, a white male with a shaved head reportedly punched two men in the face during a confrontation at Dos Copas.
