Dacula Man Admits Grabbing Teen by Neck During Dispute at McDonald’s
Man also said he told teen he would “break his finger and shove it up his a**.”
A Dacula man was charged with simple battery after a disagreement over the use of a designated parking space turned violent.
Police were called to the Hamilton Mill Road McDonald’s on the morning of Oct. 7 regarding a customer dispute. The officer met first with Lee Cramer, 52, of 954 Fairview Club Circle in Dacula.
Cramer told the officer that he and his wife noticed two young males exit a vehicle that was parked in a spot designated for drive-thru customers only. Cramer explained that he and his wife had been looking for a spot and had passed by that spot since “McDonald’s wants patrons that are going inside to order to park in another stall.”
Once inside, Cramer’s wife reportedly asked the two males if they had failed to notice the sign.
“Cramer said [the juvenile] was very disrespectful so he told him he would ‘break his finger and shove it up his a**,” the officer wrote in the report.

Cramer and the 16-year-old juvenile continued to argue. Cramer admitted telling the juvenile that he should hit him for being so disrespectful. The juvenile reportedly leaned forward displaying his cheek as an open invitation for Cramer to punch him. The juvenile also allegedly told Cramer to hit him.
“Cramer said that when [the juvenile] leaned forward showing the side of his face, he grabbed him by the neck,” the officer wrote. “Cramer said once he grabbed [the juvenile] he thought that [the juvenile] was not worth it and let him go.”
According to Cramer, the situation “began to deescalate” until the juvenile made an obscene gesture with his middle finger as Cramer left the restaurant. Cramer then walked back inside and asked the juvenile if he was that disrespectful to his father.
A manager intervened and Cramer once again exited the building.
When interviewed by police, the juvenile said Cramer and his wife were calling him names. The juvenile said he was trying to stop any contact with Cramer when Cramer physically assaulted him. The juvenile said when Cramer threatened to hit him, he told him to go ahead and he would call police. At that point, Cramer allegedly grabbed him by the neck and shook him.
A cashier and manager both said they saw Cramer grab the juvenile by the neck and both said the teen did not make any physically threatening moves.
Cramer was booked into the Gwinnett County Jail on a charge of simple battery. He was released later that day on a $1,300 bond.

I like Cramer, He is standing up to unruly punks that I see all the time. I see juveniles act like this all the time. If they don't park there, it's the handicap spots. I see more and more people starting to park in the handicap parking spaces, it's like they think they are special. I was brought up to respect my elders as well as others, If the parents don't teach them at home, then people like Cramer will have to do it for them. Cramer I hope if this goes to trail that I am on that jury... keep up the good work on teaching these kids what their parents were too lazy to do themselves....

Seems to me that someone needs to teach their elders how to deal with people in society in a polite way instead of thinking they own the world.
Respect is earned, not given.

Unfortunate for both parties. Hopefully a lesson learned for the teen, which he should've learned a long time ago. As Cramer said it's not worth it, but maybe it inspires this and other teens to reflect on the results of their actions and implications.
A sign of the times... another extension of the "me" syndrome... So much for courtesy, respect and just plain old caring for fellow humans.
My children are still in the elementary and middle school years. My children address adults by "sir" or "mr", as do most of their friends. It's a good start, but there's only so much we can control once they get out of the house.

Kristi, You reported in your article that the witnesses said that the juvenile didn't make 'any physically threatening moves". not that the teens didn't use any threats... Their is a difference, I would bet that everything happened just as reported in the report, I would also bet that the teens were also to blame, i'm sure that the "punk" kids gave just as much or more mouth then Cramer did. The only reason Cramer got arrested is that he grabbed one of them.. (which he needed to do)

im so glad all of you know exactly what happened. maybe next time you should interview for the article, since you were aware of everything. it looks like Mr. Cramer went in looking for trouble. it was a damn parking space. who F**%ing cares THAT much? If Cramer wasnt so self entitled, im sure he could have found a spot elsewhere, or perhaps a bit farther away. but i guess going to jail and having a battery charge is worth the parking spot he didnt get anyway. I'm not saying teens nowadays are anywhere close to polite and respectful, but what do you expect when you go confront a stranger, and try to get a reaction out of them? you might not like the reaction you get. Cramer is just an idiot. all this over a parking spot. congratulations.

And then the old geezer said "I'm gonna quarter-pound yer face!" And the young whipper snapper said "I'd like to see you fry!!" So gramps gave him a shake and kicked him in the nuggets. The end.

Jon-
Were you there? How do you know exactly what happened? If you were there and assessed that the adult could have avoided it all by 'walking away'.......couldn't the same be said for the kid???

Dish- Like I said, Cramer had no reason to confront the kid. All he had to do was alert the staff that the kid had parked there. Everything that followed was his fault and his fault alone.

"Cramer then walked back inside and asked the juvenile if he was that disrespectful to his father."
If my father acted like you, you'd be damn sure I would treat him with disrespect.
The -only- thing this..ahem...gentlemen should have done was to alert the staff that someone was parked in the spot. He's not an employee and had absolutely no reason to confront the kid.
I'm kind of surprised to see people defending the guy here. Everything that happened was a direct result of HIS actions. All he had to do was tell the staff. Not have a mental break down and assault some kid. Kid's a punk? Guess what, you're a grown adult. Grown adults don't throw tantrums in a fast food restaurant and grab peoples necks. Egotistical fools do.

My god, it is absolutely depressing reading how all of you are making excuses for these punks and hiding behind "he's a grown man, he should have known better." These "kids" were driving, they are old enough to know better too. Instead they acted like punks and someone called them on it. Probably long overdue.

And Cramer should have known better than to confront someone on a matter that should have been handled by the staff. All could have been avoided if he had just done that in the first place rather than take matters into their owns hands.

Was it right for the teen to park in the Drive-Thru Only spot?
Was it a good idea for the wife to approach the teens and ask if they failed to see the sign?
Should the teens have responded disrespectfully?
Even if Cramer was simply defending his wife should he have threatened dismemberment and anal corking?
Did they really need to continue arguing over something so petty and stupid?
Is a McGriddle better than a McMuffin?
Did the teen have to instigate being punched?
Did Cramer need to grab the teen by the neck?
By grabbing his neck did that teach the teen how to respect others?
Was Kramer vs Kramer really that good of a movie?
If you answered ‘Yes’ to any of these questions you failed.

Since the police were there anyway, how about towing the punks car. After all it was illegally parked. Now that would have been a learning experience for the mouthy punk.
jon

It's not technically illegal to park in the spots. They could only tow if the manager/business owners requests they be towed.

Lord, please help our society. I'm not saying Cramer was right in everything he did, but it just gripes my tail that some little punk acts that way (and I will presume Cramer is telling the truth because I've seen similar behavior so many times and, frankly, it makes no sense for Cramer to do what he was doing if the teen were not acting disrespectfully), and then "tells" on Cramer, and kid gets away while Cramer has to spend money and go talk to a judge.

Kristi, I am as floored as you at these posts. Please folks, do not go to the elementary school during the week. First of all, most of you are condoning bad decisions...elementary school children make enough of those on their own and don't need your influence. Second, I see so many parents park in the fire lane (for more than a quick run in and out) at the elementary school and it is annoying. There is a perfectly fine parking lot and the lane is clearly marked for fire. BUT, I simply walk in and tend to my business...thankfully, no telling off anyone, putting my hands on anyone or corking anyone whatsoever. How ridiculous to think such a disrespectful adult taught anyone a lesson!

I can hardly believe what I'm reading. Dumb Teenagers can be disrespectful and turn out great. I can't think of any scenario where being shaken by an adult jackass is going help that happen. Elders teach a younger generation by showing respect, tolerance and most of all restraint. Pick your fights this one wasn't worth having.
