Dozens of Campaign Signs Stolen in Apalachee Farms

Gwinnett County District 3 commission candidate Mike Korom said approximately 100 signs were taken.

Though he says his campaign has been going very well, Dacula resident and Gwinnett County District 3 commission candidate Mike Korom knows he has not won everyone over -- in particular the person or persons who stole dozens of his campaign signs Thursday evening.

"It's pretty clear that it's someone supporting another candidate," Korom joked.

In total, the thief or thieves took approximately 100 campaign signs from various sections of Apalachee Farms. A larger sign that had been erected in front of Del Rio was also taken, Korom said.

Korom believes the thefts occurred between midnight and 6 a.m. Friday morning. So far, no witnesses have come forward and none of the signs have been recovered.

Korom has filed a police report and plans to replace the missing signs as soon as possible.

Korom asked that anyone with information about the missing signs contact Gwinnett County Police at 770-513-5100 or call him directly at 404-427-6762.

Korom, Tommy Hunter and Jerry Oberholtzer are challenging incumbent Mike Beaudreau in the July 31 primary.

Where is "R" suggesting that Korom stole his own signs? Guess it's not a two way street with people like R...trying to get my surprised face to work...not much luck

AWW, It's good to know I'm always on your mind...

I just figured the sign case was a rite of passage for the man. BUT I'm glad you stepped right on up in this issue for me in my absence!

HATE it’s a terrible thing...

Besides …
You know how much space 100 of those things take up with the little wire base?
That’s a full size pickup truck load, metal thieves must be getting desperate!
I'm just waiting for the robo-call denial...

I AM.... Insubordinate!

One hundred signs would take up a lot of space. I'm surprised they haven't been found. The thief had to dump them somewhere. And yes R, you are insubordinate ;)

signs do 2 things. first of all they keep your supporters engaged...a candidate's home crown turnout is crucial. #2...you'd be surprised at how many people vote without having any idea of the candidates. the person listed first can actually get 1 to 2 percentage points more vote because they are listed first. Signs get your name in front of voters who have done little homework. #1 is the big one though.

Perhaps the Covenant Enforcement Committee in charge of littering took (disposed of) the signs.

Couple of things here....

1. Political signs are against HOA rules in Appalachee Farms.

2. What I love about Mike's signs, if I was to want to steal them, is that the stars and the O's make great targets for target practice. The sign is already on the wire stand... I can't wait until after the election, I am going to help Mike get his signs up FAST! Rednecks everywhere will. Thanks for the signs in advance Mike!
