Firefighter’s Gear Reported Stolen

Turnout coat and flashlight were in truck bed.

 

A Feb. 12 grocery shopping trip ended with a call to the Gwinnett County Police Department after a City of Atlanta firefighter discovered someone had removed gear from his vehicle while he was inside the Publix on Hamilton Mill Parkway.

The firefighter said his turnout coat and a Pelican flashlight valued at $250 had been stowed in the bed of his GMC Sierra while he was in the store.

There is no suspect information. The case is listed as active.

The following day, police were called to a Hog Mountain Road home to investigate another theft. The victim told police someone entered his shed and removed Skil saws, two weedeaters, two chainsaws, a battery charger, a shop vacuum and a drill.

The shed was not secured and the victim could not provide any identifying information for the missing items. The total value of the stolen tools was listed as $1,100.
