Gwinnett Citizens Airport Panel Complete

Lasseter makes choices to the 11-member panel reviewing Briscoe Field privatization.

The 11-member citizens panel that will review Gwinnett County's Briscoe Field privatization process is now complete. District 1 Commissioner Shirley Lasseter, made her choices Tuesday, naming Terry Britt and Nickie Summers.

Other commissioners had made their choices earlier in October, when the board also authorized consultants IMG to begin assisting the county with the RFP process for the airport.

"Neither one of them have a dog in the fight other than to do what's best for Gwinnett County," Lasseter said of her appointees.

No meeting date has been set by the panel, and the county is not sure when it formally will issue RFPs. Commissioners currently are thinking of continuing to operate the county-owned airport as a general aviation airport. Commercial passenger service could be proposed by a potential operator as part of a long-term vision.

Really "FlyBriscoe"?

Just like the I-85 HOT Lane will create revenue for the state and not cause traffic to be worse.

Look....you Fly Briscoe folks are trying to sell a pipe dream. Perdue predicted that the HOT Lanes would be great. WRONG! I am sure FlyBriscoe cannot predict the future either and using the unemployed as a ploy to get folks on board is shameful.

The economy will be sustained when the markets come back. I mean this is what Republicans said about the banks. Let em fail...this is a free market society.

Stop trying to force your Bailout down our throats. Briscoe Commercialization is a bailout that we do not want either!!

Don't forget how much revenue the Gwinnett Braves stadium was going to bring the County! Yeah, right. When will people learn?

Plus, why is it that people like 'FlyBriscoe' think that we are just not informed enough on the matter? Like going to his website would change my mind? Maybe it's because he is just so much smarter than we are.....again.....Yeah, right.
