A recent survey shows consumers expect to spend more this year than in 2011.
According to PriceGrabber, 46 percent of consumers expect to spend more on back-to-school shopping than last year. How much will they spend? A July PriceGrabber survey indicated 63 percent of consumers expect to spend up to $500 and 20 percent expect to spend between $500 and $1,000.
For the purpose of the survey, back-to-school spending included school supplies, clothing and technology purchases.
