Leap Day William Is Coming to Town

Happy Leap Day! Don your blue and yellow and get ready to cry for candy.

Perhaps you are familiar with the story? Once every four years on Feb. 29, Leap Day William emerges from the Marianas Trench to trade candy for tears. Tradition calls for celebrants to wear blue and yellow clothing. Those who don't wear appropriate holiday attire risk getting poked in the eye and having their hair pulled for forgetting what clothes to wear (see video). Except in Boston, where, in addition to the Leap Day William parade and a citywide ice maze, tradition calls for people not wearing Leap Day colors to get stomped on the foot, kicked in the knee and reminded of how great the New England Patriots are.
