Local Cars for Sale: Demand Surging for Jeeps
Chrysler having difficulty meeting demand for Wranglers and Jeep Grand Cherokees, but there are plenty of used Jeeps on the market locally.
Chrysler officials recently got an earful at the annual meeting of the National Association of Automobile Dealers. The company, according to AOL Autos, is having a hard time meeting demand for the Jeep Grand Cherokees and Wranglers.
Last year, the company experienced a 16 percent gain over 2011 in Wrangler sales. Demand has resulted in the Wrangler Rubicon edition actually selling a few hundred dollars above the manufacturer's retail selling price (MSRP) of $30,595, AOL Autos reported.
The Jeep Liberty and Grand Cherokee are also in high demand.
"About 25 percent to 30 percent of Grand Cherokees are selling for more than $40,000, according to Chrysler officials," the AOL Autos article stated. "And they are so much in demand that those pricey Jeeps are also transacting for more than MSRP."
While new Jeeps are selling at premium prices, there are several used Jeep models currently for sale locally including the following:
- 2004 Jeep Liberty Sport - $8,699
- 2008 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara - $21,997
- 2002 Jeep Wrangler Sport - $7,991
