Man Admits Selling Marijuana, Just Not on Day of Arrest

Hoschton man arrested after officer finds drugs, tools of the trade inside vehicle.

A Hoschton man is facing charges of possessing marijuana with the intent to distribute after an officer found marijuana, pipes and a scale in the suspect’s vehicle during an Oct. 5 traffic stop.

According to the police report, the suspect’s vehicle had been reported as “possibly involved with illegal drugs.” The officer was following the vehicle when he observed an unspecified traffic violation and initiated a traffic stop near the intersection of Auburn Road and Jim Moore Road.

During the course of the stop, the officer discovered the driver, Shannon Moore, 33, of 1874 Mineral Springs Road in Hoschton, was in possession of several bags of green leafy material that Moore admitted was marijuana. Moore also had tobacco pipes and a scale in his vehicle.

Moore allegedly admitted selling marijuana. The officer wrote, “The driver stated he does commonly sell the marijuana; however, he was not doing so today.”

Moore was taken into custody and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. He was released later that day on an $11,200 bond.
