Man Wanted on Rape Charge Arrested at Duncan Creek Skatepark

Charges stem from January incident in Lawrenceville.

A Lawrenceville man was arrested last week after an off-duty Gwinnett County police investigator recognized him as the suspect in an active rape investigation.

The investigator, who had been visiting with his family, saw Blair Malachi Washington, 20, skateboarding and asked an on-duty officer to verify Washington’s identity. The investigator advised Washington was a suspect in a rape investigation and had several outstanding warrants for his arrest.

When questioned by officers, Washington readily identified himself and was placed under arrest once the active warrants were confirmed.
