In front of a packed house Friday night, 16 teen performers competed for the title of Mill Creek Idol 2013.

The competition was judged by new Mill Creek High School principal Jason Lane along with teachers Melissa Smith and James Yikes. The judges selected the first, second and third place contestants while the audience voted for the "People's Choice" award winner.

David Dennis, who performed "Signed, Sealed, Delivered," beat out Andi Wantuadi, Lauren Parnell, Caitlin Page, Brittney Martin, Jimmy Casey, Breanna Smith, Abby Avery, C.J. Walters, Andrea Serrano, Megan Gil, Jordan Throgmartin, Daniel Simonca, Emerald Cooper, Abby Latham and Jeremy Armstrong for the title of Mill Creek Idol 2013.

Dennis was also selected as the "People's Choice" award winner. Cooper placed second and Gil finished third.

The event, a fundraiser for the Mill Creek choral department, also featured a performance by the Mill Creek High School a capella choir, Hawkapella, the MCHS show choir and Stephen Day, the winner of Mill Creek Idol 2012. Others participating in the Feb. 8 production were host Hope Douds, co-hosts Jenna Mabie and Becca Waddell, stage managers Morgan Zabow and Keith Westover, sound technician Tony Crabtree and light technician Ryan Kibildis.
