Chicken Wing Cupcakes a Super Bowl Hit for New York Bakery

Looking for something different to serve at your Super Bowl party? How about a savory chicken wing cupcake?

The Super Bowl is tomorrow and an Albany, N.Y. bakery has whipped up a game day treat described on their Facebook page as "all the goodness of a typical party platter, fitting in the palm of your hand."

Coccadotts Cake Shop has created a chicken wing cupcake made of a buttery cornbread base, covered with bleu cheese frosting and topped with a chicken wing.

WIVB.com reports owner Rachel Coca-Dott tried five or six recipes before coming up with the perfect Super Bowl treat. "When I was ready to call it quits I think we kinda nailed it on it," she said.

The orders for the unusual Super Bowl treat have been pouring in according to Fox News.

The unique cupcake has been featured on "The Jay Leno Show," "Good Morning America" and numerous other media outlets.

The reason for the chicken wing cupcake's popularity? According to The Wall Street Journal, Americans will eat more than 1.25 billion chicken wings over the Super Bowl weekend -- or four wings for every man, woman and child in the U.S.
