Call it the Martini Incident. Earlier this month, a Lilburn woman pointed a shot gun at her husband late one evening during an argument in their home. The reason for the argument? While the husband was making cocktails, the top of a martini shaker flew off and hit the woman in the head. Perhaps there was something more behind the argument than sloppy martini mixing.

An Athens woman on the run after a traffic stop lost a shoe in the process. It wasn't Prince Charming, but rather Oconee County Sheriff's deputies, who found her sandal and then later the woman. She was hiding in the nearby woods, covered in leaves and sticks. She faces several charges, including fleeing an officer, and a plastic bag containing a white powdery substance also was found in the car.

Umm, did this man really think this would work? An Athens man was arrested for trying to sell $4,000 worth of stolen air pumps back to the business from which they were stolen. He offered this great deal: $50 for each of the six pumps reported stolen from an Athens job site. When the man drove to Watkinsville to collect the money — you probably guessed it — the cops were waiting for him.

What do they say? Don't bite the hand that feeds you, right? An employee at a Dacula-area Kohl's store attempted a five-finger discount of baby clothes after her shift was over. She went into a dressing room and stuffed the items on her person, then walked out of the store. She was caught and probably wasn't needed at work anymore.

A Winder woman, suspected of shoplifting $145 worth of items from a drugstore, tried to hide the empty boxes of the items in a toilet tank in the bathroom. But another customer in the next stall heard what she was doing and alerted store employees. The woman said as police arrived, "This cold sore is killing me," while applying ointment she alledgedly tried to steal.

Clark Howard wouldn't suggest doing this if you need auto body repair. A Lilburn woman told Norcross Police that after she noticed scratches on her car, two men offered to fix them for $50 on the spot. They ended up charging her $100, didn't fix the scratches and caused even more damage.

Shortly after Gwinnett Police officers responded to a report of fight at a Dacula-area swimming pool another fight broke out between two women. One of the women, who appeared to be intoxicated, said she didn't care the police were nearby.

A Winder woman who frequently allows homeless people into her home to get food told police several items had been stolen from her home, including a ring with diamonds and two paintings. When police suggested she secure her valuables if she wanted to continue serving people she doesn't know, she said she just can't turn away hungry people.
