A 16-year-old Dacula teen said he was attacked and robbed by two males while waiting on a friend at Dacula Park on Sept. 7.

According to the teen, he was in the back pavilion area of the park at approximately 4 p.m. when he was approached by two males, both of whom he estimated to be 17-19 years of age. The teen told police one of the male suspects asked for a ride. When the teen said no, the second suspect reportedly began speaking with him, also asking for a ride.

While the teen was speaking with the second suspect, the first suspect allegedly punched him in the face and then placed him in a headlock. The first suspect then reportedly forcibly removed a $600 gold 20-inch chain necklace from the teen’s neck.

After grabbing the necklace, the first suspect released the teen and then he and the second suspect ran into the wood line at the rear of the park, the teen said.

The investigating officer noted several injuries to the teen.

“The victim sustained visible injuries in the form of a busted and swollen lip, scratches on his right ear, scratches on his neck and scratches behind his left ear,” the officer wrote in the incident report. “Visible bruising in the shape of the necklace was observed on the back of the victim’s neck where it was pushed against him while the first male held him in a headlock.”

The teen indicated he had not seen either of his assailants prior to the incident.

The case is listed as active.
