Thousands in Cash, Jewelry Reported Missing

Victim believes home was burglarized while she was at work.

 

Gwinnett County Police are investigating a possible burglary at a home on Forest Crest Court in Dacula.

On the morning of Sept. 8, the victim called police after realizing her jewelry box had been emptied of its contents and $5,000 in cash had been removed from her nightstand.

The victim said she last saw the cash and jewelry on the evening of Sept. 6. and believes the burglary must have occurred on Sept. 7 while she was at work. The victim told police all the doors were locked while she was gone, but the investigating officer found no signs of forced entry.

According to the police report, the victim believes one of her teenage son’s friends may be responsible for the theft.  The woman said she had no proof, “just a hunch.”

The victim valued the missing jewelry at $12,000. The stolen items include gold, pearl and diamond rings; gold and diamond earrings and a gold and pearl necklace.

The case is listed as active.
