Three people were injured in an accident earlier today on Spout Springs Road near Duncans Shore Drive.

The accident, which occurred around 11 a.m. this morning, involved a cement truck, a small pickup truck and a mid-size sport utility vehicle according to Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services acting public information officer Lt. Eric Eberly.

The driver of the pickup truck was entrapped in his vehicle. Crews used the “Jaws of Life” to free the patient, Eberly said.

Two patients were transported to Gwinnett Medical Center in Lawrenceville. One patient is listed as critical and another suffered minor injuries. Eberly said the third patient was treated and released at the scene.

The Gwinnett County Police Department Accident Investigation Unit is working to determine the cause of the collision.
