DO we have any names on these accident victims, are they locals?

Another senseless tragedy that can easily be avoided.

Thank you all for your concern, thoughts, and prayers. This situation is so maddening. I try my hardest not to feel hatred, but I'm not sure it is possible in this case.

If anyone has questions as to the status of the victim, please don't call the hospital. They have been inundated with calls about her and while that is very heartwarming they need to focus all of their time and efforts on her care. My family created a Caring Bridge website for her, and those of you who know her name can access it by searching the site. Updates will be posted there often. Please keep praying.

Drunk driving is such a thief of those that are hurt by this horrible issue. When it hits close to home, like this has, all concerned hearts are touched. I too have been concerned about this family for personal reasons. My parents were hit head on by drunk drivers some 50 years ago. The 2 drunk ladies did not have ANY life changing injuries. My parents on the other hand have never had another day that they were not in pain. Between broken hips, severely broken legs, injured eyes, lungs, ear, and other injuries they just lived in pain. Both lost length in their legs and so were always reminded of the wreck with each step they took. My mother had over 32 surgeries over the past years and it was a different childhood for us all. How can anyone think that drinking is their right? Even though I drink I believe that to be drunk and driving is a sin, plain and simple. Someone is responsible. Someone has changed the life of this lady and her family and friends. If we do not make drunk drivers responsible for their actions ( jail time and restitution) others will continue to cause chaos to those their hurt and damage. Even though I do not know this lady, I do know what her family is going through today and what whey will be going through from here on out. Pray for strength, patience, and continued progress. And to the drunk driver, get ready to pay for your actions! Do not get yourself a lawyer and try to tell everyone it was just a one time event. Man UP!

My thoughts and prayers are with the victims in this senseless crash. If our system was TRUELY for victims, this woman wouldn't have to go through what she is going through. The drunk driver wouldn't have been driving drunk that night, he would have been under a jail somewhere, due to his record. Someone I use to work with, lives in Ham Mill and this year alone has been arrested THREE times (twice in a week) for DUI and drug related charges. Totaled a Porsche in the process. HE is still out there!!! WHY do they let these habitual offenders out of jail, to run us down? Not enough room in the jails? Well, I have a solution for that, but I won't go into it here. Between people out there driving under the influence and "soccer moms" on cell phones... I'm ready to leave this area and find some place where people have more respect for others on the road. Wait till you get HOME to drink, do your drugs... or talk on your phone! Sorry. This kinda thing just gets under my skin.
