Will You Vote in Favor of the E-SPLOST?
Voters will decide on Nov. 8 whether to continue the current 1 percent E-SPLOST for another five years.
On Nov. 8, Gwinnett County voters will be asked to approve a continuation of the educational special purpose local option sales tax or E-SPLOST. This tax is a 1 percent tax added to every purchase made within Gwinnett County.
The current E-SPLOST will expire on June 30, 2012. The Gwinnett County Board of Education is asking voters to approve an extension of the E-SPLOST, known as SPLOST IV, which will last for another five years.
Over the years, proceeds from this tax have provided Gwinnett County Public School students with classrooms in 46 new schools and 59 school additions as well as technology upgrades within the schools.
