The woman said she left the jewelry in her car when she dropped it off at the Hamilton Mill Car Wash.

A Dacula woman claims $8,000 worth of jewelry was stolen out of her car while her vehicle was being cleaned at a local car wash.

According to the police report, the woman left her car at the Hamilton Mill Car Wash around 4:30 p.m. on May 18 and then walked next door to Walmart to do some shopping. The victim told police she left a diamond tennis bracelet valued at $5,000 and three gold bracelets valued at $1,000 each on the passenger seat of her car with a floor mat placed on top of them.

The victim retrieved her vehicle two hours later and said she did not notice the jewelry was missing until she left the car wash. She returned to the car wash, but said the manager refused to give her any information regarding who cleaned her car, so she called 911.
