Woodall Reiterates Support for Israel

Congressman expresses disappointment in President's remarks.

Rep. Rob Woodall (R-GA-07) today reiterated his support for Israel while expressing disappointment in President Barack Obama’s suggestion the Israelis should return their country to its pre-1967 borders.

“As a long-time supporter of Israel, I was very disappointed by President Obama’s remarks regarding the Administration’s proposed future foreign policy on a way forward for Israel and the Palestinians,” Woodall said in a released statement.  “It is naïve and imprudent to believe that lasting peace can be achieved by chipping away at Israel’s sovereignty.”

Woodall said any discussion that includes a demand to return to Israel’s pre-1967 borders jeopardizes both Israel and its neighbors.
