January is Radon Action month and Gwinnett County is giving away free testing kits to residents. Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer and you will never know you have high levels of radon until you test your home. Radon gas is a odorless gas that you cannot see nor smell.
Testing your home is the only way to know how much of this radioactive gas is in your house. The Gwinnett Cooperative Extension is giving away Radon kits free of charge during the month of January only, so that Gwinnett homeowners can test their homes at no cost.
If you want to know more or would like a kit, email me and I will get the information to you. Hamilton Mill and Dacula has traditionally been a area that has shown high levels of Radon so it is a good thing to know.
