UGA Destroys Tech 42-10 in Heated In-State Rivalry Game

In what was predicted to be a much closer game, UGA absolute whooped up on Georgia Tech. Though if you had looked at the stats alone, you wouldn't think that the game was such a blowout. Tech ended up with around 50 more yards than UGA and almost twice as much time of possession, yet UGA held them to a single touchdown in the fourth quarter and a field goal in the first.

Murray had an amazing game going 14/17 for 215 yards, while Todd Gurley and Keith Marshall rushed for 97 and 66 yards respectively.

Also in this game Todd Gurley picked up two more rushing touchdowns to put him at 14 total for the season, one less than the record for the most rushing touchdowns for a freshman set by Herschel Walker in 1980.

Hey Alex, good commentary. You should write more often. The score would have been worse if Coach Richt had not called off the Dawgs. Don't tell your Mom I said this but, Georgia is going to beat Alabama in the SEC Championship Game.

I heard that Jimmy!

Btw - told you Chizik would get canned. You can't post a record like that at a school like Auburn.

Mark Stoops to Kentucky. Les Miles to Arkansas?

Auburn? How about Iowa State's Paul Rhoads? It gave you a National Championship last time you hired from there. Of course you will probably have to find a new coach once again a couple years after that.

Good morning, Kristi. Welcome back. Did you have a nice Thanksgiving and vacation? The Alabama - Auburn score would have been much worse if Saban had not pulled his first team defense/offense out. Heck, we couldn't even score against the third string players. Regret to see Coach Chizik get fired but that's the nature of the beast in being a football coach. You lose and you will lose. Coach Chizik is a fine Christian gentleman. BTW, just heard that Coach Zito over at Dacula has stepped down.

Hi Jimmy - We had a nice vacation. Hope you and Sandra had a wonderful Thanksgiving.

As for that game - Bama could've scored again at the end had Saban not told the QB to take a knee. I assure you there are plenty of Bama fans somewhat irritated that we didn't go ahead and break the Iron Bowl scoring record while the opportunity existed. Oh well.

As for Chizik, he is hardly alone. Dooley, Phillips and Smith are all out as well. It's tough to be a coach in the SEC.

Good morning, Alex. I have a riddle for you: What does Georgia and Sandcastles have in common? Your Mom knows the answer so ask her. Hey, I see where Georgia is going to come after the high school players who have committed to Auburn. That's O.K. as we may be down but we "ain't" out. We'll be back.

Haha! I wouldn't be too sure of that. Anything can happen in college football, don't count the Dawgs out too soon.

Man, I need to learn more about football. These discussions are way nicer to read than the political stuff.
Go DAWGS! :-)

Alex - I have a great deal for you. If Georgia wins, I'll cook Christmas dinner and you can choose the menu. If Alabama wins, you cook Christmas dinner and I choose the menu. You feeling that good about the Dawgs?

Are you giving him the 7½ points?

How about if Notre Dame beats the winner you both cook me dinner?

LOL - We're not that far along yet. We have to get this SEC championship settled first before we talk about which of our teams is going to beat Notre Dame.

Either team can beat Notre Dame.

Alabama will beat Georgia. They have been watching the South Carolina tapes. Surely you GA fans remember the SC game.
