Short answer: it's not point and shoot. Long answer: Check calendar for full moon rise @ sunsetRead More(las t night they were within 6 minutes of each other - adds a little color to the moon!). Check GPS to see where/when moon rises. Use tripod to keep DLSR steady. Take lots of 3-bracketed photos (normal, under, and over-exposed) in rapid succession. Combine best 3 bracketed shots using HDR software. HDR produces colors that a single shot just can't get. To me, LMP is just one huge photo op. Every time I go I wish I had a camera. I usually don't.
