Police Capture Burglary Suspect After Foot Chase and Hotel Evacuation – Buckhead Patch Atlanta Police arrested a burglary suspect who led them on a foot chase across Highway 400 before running into an empty room at a nearby Buckhead hotel around noon. Zone 2 officers responded to an audible alarm at a residence on Pinetree Road when they noticed a man riding on a bike in the area of two recent burglaries. Ferrari Crash Victim Dies From Injuries – Alpharetta Patch The 18-year-old driver of a Ferrari that crashed off Webb Bridge Road on Oct. 19 has died, making it a fatality crash investigation. "Sadly, the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety has been advised by the Fulton County medical examiner’s office that the driver of the Ferrari crash on October 19th has died of his injuries," said George Gordon, spokesman for the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety. Suspects Use Manhole Cover to Smash Glass, Burglarize Jewelry Store – Snellville Patch According to Snellville Police, three males broke into Barron's Fine Jewelry at 1850 Scenic Highway. The suspects broke eight display cases and made off with an undisclosed amount of jewelry. According to Channel 2 Action News, the suspects used a manhole cover to smash the glass of the business. Gun Store, Restaurant Deal Puts M-16, Margarita In Customer's Hands – Canton-Sixes Patch State Rep. Sean Jerguson (R-Holly Springs) is partnering with a Holly Springs Mexican restaurant to offer a deal that involves an outing at his gun store, appetizers and margaritas. Police Identify Victims in Fiery Car Crash – Alpharetta Patch Two victims involved in an Oct. 19 single-vehicle accident that closed Webb Bridge Road at Big Creek near North Point Parkway have been identified. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Akshay Panducherry, age 18, of Alpharetta. The passenger was identified as Harshavardhan Patlolla, age 21, also of Alpharetta. Possibly Rabid Fox Attacks Man, Dogs in North Forsyth – Cumming Patch A possibly rabid fox in north Forsyth County has attacked a man and bitten two dogs, authorities reported Thursday. The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office is warning residents to be on the lookout for the fox in and near the Hampton subdivision, located off GA 400 as it remains on the loose. The incident happened on Tuesday morning while the man, a grounds maintenance worker, was working on the golf course. Man Crashes Stolen Truck Into Tree During Police Pursuit – Oconee Patch Within minutes of receiving a report Tuesday that a Toyota Tundra had been stolen from a Crooked Creek Road residence, Oconee County Sheriff's deputies had handcuffs on a 20-year-old Comer man. The call came in just after 5 p.m. with information from the victim that the truck was headed toward Mars Hill Road, according to a news release. Abducted Toddler Left Unattended in Car Found Safe – Stone Mountain Patch A two year-old girl was found safe after DeKalb police say she was abducted after being left unattended by a caregiver in a car outside the Fitness Center at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in DeKalb County. According to preliminary reports, the incident happened around 9:30 a.m. when a day care provider left the child unattended in a car outside the church's fitness center at 6400 Woodrow Road in Lithonia while she went inside. Car Cut in Half After Hitting Trees, Driver Critical – Canton-Sixes Patch Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services responded to a single vehicle accident on Friday afternoon on Georgia Highway 372, east of Ball Ground, near the Etowah River Bridge. Emergency service personnel received the call shortly after 5:30 p.m. and responded to the scene of the accident. The accident involved a Ford Mustang that had apparently left the road, went down an embankment and struck some trees. Upon impact, the car was cut in half, ejecting the driver from the vehicle. Arnold Schwarzenegger Coming to Metro Area – Tucker Patch Residents of a neighborhood off Brockett Road in Tucker are in for a bit of an upheaval later this month. A production company is moving in for a couple of days to shoot scenes for a movie and coming with them is... Arnold Schwarzenegger. The movie in question is called "Breacher" and tells the sordid tale of a group of rogue DEA agents who get their comeuppance in gruesome ways. Guilty Verdict in Jack Boys Gang Trial – East Atlanta Patch A Fulton County jury returned guilty verdicts against three members of the local ‘Jack Boys’ gang, whose reign of terror included the rape of a Grant Park woman and the murder of a Virginia-Highland man. Tamario Wise, the 19-year-old gang leader; Robert Veal, 18; and Fernandez Whatley, 21, faced a slew of crimes in a 90-count indictment including murder, armed robbery, rape, aggravated assault, kidnapping and participating in gang activity. Twins Charged With Murder, Concealing Death – Barrow Patch The Winder Police Department has charged twin brothers Christopher Cormier and William Cormier with murder, according to a news release.  The brothers have been in police custody since Monday, when a body was found buried in the backyard of a Sixth Street residence in Winder. The body is believed to be that of Sean Dugas, a 30-year-old Pensacola man and a former reporter for the Pensacola News Journal, who has been missing since September. Armed Canton Man Killed by Cherokee Deputies – Canton-Sixes Patch A Canton man who was firing a .45 caliber handgun outside his home and involved in a domestic dispute was shot and killed by Cherokee County Sheriff's Office deputies Saturday. Three deputies who were involved in the shooting have been put on paid administrative leave, and an investigation by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation is now underway. Man Who Shot at Police During Hour-long Chase Sentenced to Prison – Cartersville Patch A Cedartown native pursued by authorities for more than an hour in a chase that ended in Cartersville received a hefty prison sentence Sept. 27 from U.S. District Judge Robert L. Vining, announced U.S. Attorney Sally Quillian Yates. Johnnie Turner, 26, who also shot a .357 caliber pistol during the 2010 incident, had pleaded guilty in 2011 to illegally possessing a firearm as a previously convicted felon. Neighbor Holds Alleged Burglar at Gunpoint – Cartersville Patch Bartow County sheriff's officials are crediting an alert neighbor for the arrest of a man allegedly caught breaking into a Cartersville home. Sheriff Clark Millsap said in a press release deputies were dispatched about 6:40 last night to a burglary in progress at the Jones Mill Road residence. They found Corey Biggers, 24, of Armuchee, lying on the ground, held at gunpoint by a neighbor who had called 911. Powder Springs Gun Range OK'd to Serve Alcohol – West Cobb Patch One of the two alcohol licenses approved by the Powder Springs City Council Monday came with little discussion and no debate. It was for wine and beers sales for the recently opened Loma Pizzeria on Sailors Parkway. The license passed 4-1, with Councilwoman Nancy Hudson dissenting, as she typically does on alcohol issues. But the other license, awarded to the $3.5 million Governor’s Gun Club being built at the corner of C.H. James Parkway and Sterlingbrooke Drive, was full of points and rebuttals. Cyclists Angry About How Fatality Handled – Decatur Patch Cycling safety became Dave Mathews' passion after a bad bike wreck 18 months ago, and he grew more serious on the subject after a pickup struck and killed cyclist Paul Taylor. Mathews became downright angry after authorities announced last week nobody will be prosecuted because they don't have evidence to make a case. South Forsyth Man Arrested in Stolen Eagle Sculpture Case – Cumming Patch A 29-year-old south Forsyth County man was arrested Monday in connection with the theft of the eagle bronze sculpture taken from the Big Creek Greenway three weeks ago. The nearly 400-pound eagle sculpture is approximately 6-feet-tall, with an 8-foot wingspan.  Pedro Castro Garcia was apprehended by authorities around noon today [Monday] at his residence and charged with theft by receiving stolen property, according to investigators with the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office. FBI Captures ‘Dreaded Bandit’ and Armed Robbery Crew With Help From Austell Police – South Cobb Patch The FBI was able to arrest four men, including one known as the "Dreaded Bandit," suspected of being part of an armed robbery crew, in Austell on Sept. 7, because of a traffic stop by an Austell Police officer. Coach Accused of Sexually Assaulting Minor – Marietta Patch Isuru Pasan Perera, 31, of Marietta was taken into custody without incident on Saturday, Sept. 8, and is being held without bond at the Cobb County Jail, according to Marietta Police.
