Gwinnett County Tree Lighting Ceremony Set for Nov. 24

The Gwinnett County Christmas tree lighting is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 24 at the Historic Courthouse in Downtown Lawrenceville

Festivities begin at 5 p.m. and include music from the Class Act Band, The John King Band and Lawrenceville's own Catherine Kimbro. There will also be free face painting and arts and crafts for the kids. 

Fox 5 Atlanta reporter Randy Travis will once again serve as the event's emcee.

The tree lighting ceremony will begin at 6 p.m., and Santa Claus will arrive around 6:45 p.m.

Donation boxes for Toys for Tots will be available and Marines will be collecting new, unwrapped toys for children up to the age of 13.

The tree lighting kicks off Gwinnett County Parks and Recreation's season of holiday events, which includes Breakfast with Santa and An Old Fashioned Christmas. You can find out more details and register for these events on GCPR's website.
