Deadline Approaching for Gingerbread House Competition

Entries may be dropped off beginning Nov. 25.

Show off your "green" creative side by participating in this year's Sustainable Gingerbread House Competition and Exhibit at the Gwinnett Environmental and Heritage Center (GEHC).

As part of the competition -- now in its fourth year -- designers are asked to create environmentally friendly houses out of edible materials that highlight sustainability and green building design.

“This is a great opportunity for families, businesses, civic groups, students and/or individuals to get into the holiday spirit and show off their gingerbread building talents and green building ingenuity,” said Jason West, GEHC director of programming, in a released statement.

Each entry must include at least three sustainable building elements such as solar panels, rain barrels, windmills, etc.
