An Osborne Middle School teacher has been honored for his work in sponsoring a Junior National Art Honor Society chapter.

Art teacher Dallas Gillespie was recently awarded the Georgia Art Education Association (GAEA) Junior National Art Honor Society Sponsor of the Year Award for 2014.

“This award recognizes a high level of professional accomplishment and service by dedicated art educators," said GAEA President Stephen Lahr in a released statement. "Mr. Gillespie exemplifies the high quality of individuals involved in the field of art education today: leaders, teachers, students, and advocates who give their very best to the profession. We are proud to recognize Dallas Gillespie.”

The GAEA includes educators at all levels in Georgia's public and private schools. The organization's goal is to promote and maintain quality instruction in visual arts programs throughout the state.
