Elvis Visits Dacula, Inaugural Football Game and a Day of Remembrance

Don’t miss “Young” Elvis and the Blue Suede’s Rockabilly Tribute Show this Friday, Sept. 9 at restaurant. This show will feature vintage instruments, microphones and sound. Endorsed by Elvis’ stepbrothers, Harold Schultz will begin performing at 9 p.m.

Head out to and cheer the Lions on as they welcome Athens Christian to their new home field this Friday, Sept. 9. This is the first true home football game in the history of the school as the Lions take the field on school property. The stadium is located just behind the high school on Dacula Road. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

will be the location for the Prowler Boy car show on Saturday, Sept 10 from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. This show will feature classic ’57 Chevys, new sports models, trucks and motorcycles. The event is free to the public and $15 entry fee for car owners.

Finish the day at where Elvis impersonator Mark Pitt will be performing live. This show is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 10 beginning at 8 p.m. Entry fee is $10 and reservations are available by calling 678-622-0460. While you enjoy the show Friends will be providing a inflatable obstacle course for the kids to enjoy.

Sunday, Sept. 11 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. there will be a 9/11 remembrance ceremony and service project right here in our hometown of Dacula. student and founder of Greening Forward, Charles Orgbon has organized this event that will begin at 3 p.m. in the Dacula High School parking lot. The service project will include a litter pick up project that will end at City Hall where a remembrance ceremony will begin at 4 p.m. Dacula Mayor Jimmy Wilbanks and other guest speakers will address attendees. A tree will be planted in front of City Hall to serve as a living tribute to the victims of 9/11.
