Froyolo: Frozen Yogurt Comes to Dacula

FROYOLO = Frozen Yogurt Love

Do you know what stands for?  If not, you should because we have one right here in our hometown of Dacula.  It stands for “Frozen Yogurt Love” and if you love frozen yogurt, you will be happy to read about this new hot spot.  and is not your everyday run of the mill yogurt shop.  This is a self-serve shop that lets you create your own masterpiece.

Here’s how it works:
1. Grab a cup and fill it up with your favorite flavor of yogurt.
2.  Choose from candy or fresh fruit toppings and add to your creation.
3.  Weigh your items.
4.  Pay and enjoy (cost is based on the weight of your selections).

I spoke with owner Timothy Oh and store manager Jerry Fierro and here is what they had to say:

Q: How long has Froyolo at Hamilton Mill been open?

Timothy:  Froyolo just opened for business in January of 2011

Q:  There is another Froyolo at Sugarloaf, what motivated you to open a business here in Dacula?

Jerry:  Dacula did not have any yogurt shops and we wanted to bring yogurt to the residents of Dacula.

Q: What has been the response of Dacula residents to Froyolo so far?

Jerry:  The response from Dacula has been wonderful.  Froyolo surveyed visitors and found that most of their customers are from the immediate Dacula area and Hamilton Mill.

Q:  What would you like the residents of Dacula to know about Froyolo?

Timothy: At Froyolo we offer 45 different flavors of yogurt with 10 different flavors available on any given day.  Froyolo offers Dacula residents a healthy food choice for the whole family to enjoy.

Jerry:  Here at Froyolo we make our yogurt fresh and cut fresh fruit daily.  The shop offers a fun family environment for those with small children, teens, and adults.  Coming to Froyolo and making your own creation is half the fun!

When I stopped in Froyolo this week, the 10 yogurt choices were original tart, mango, chocolate, grape, cake batter, cookies and cream, vanilla, cheesecake, pomegranate and peanut butter. There is also a selection for diabetics as well.  Froyolo at Hamilton Mill will soon be opening a party room in addition to their cheery indoor seating and outdoor patio areas.

Follow Froyolo at Hamilton Mill on Facebook and let them know you heard about them on the Patch.

Froyolo is open for business Monday through Thursday from noon to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday from noon to 11 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 9 p.m.
