Hebron Principal’s Core Mission for Students: Seek to Love God and Others

As the high school principal for , Dr. Tim M. Anderson,  strives daily to provide quality Christ-centered education for his high school students. The school's mission is to build well-rounded students who are spiritually, academically, athletically, artistically, and socially prepared to impact our community for Jesus Christ. Anderson sums up this huge responsibility into one simple phrase. 

“At our core, we seek to love God and love others,” Anderson said.

For Anderson, the decision to become the principal at Hebron was a spiritual one.

“I came to HCA because I felt the Lord opened the door for me to lead the high school,” Anderson explained. “The faculty is awesome. They love our students and teach each discipline through a Christian worldview.”

The most rewarding part of Anderson’s position is getting to be a part of God’s grand plan for the students at Hebron.

“My job is so rewarding because I get to see young people on a daily basis becoming more prepared to carry out the plans the Lord has for them in their lives,” Anderson said.

As the principal of a Dacula school, Anderson’s personal goal is to become fully invested in the Dacula community.

“My family and I have joined Hebron Baptist Church,” he explained. “We have moved into our new home, and we are enjoying the activities associated with HCA.”

Professionally, Anderson has big plans as well.

“I seek to work with my staff to enhance our schools curriculum and academic offerings to continually prepare our students to be culturally relevant through a Christian worldview,” he said.

The principal of a high school is not only a leader within the walls of the school, but also in our community. Anderson recognizes the impact he can make in Dacula, and he strives to build positive relationships in our community.

“Thus far in the school year, our high school students interacted with many community members who live in assisted living communities,” Anderson said proudly. “During Thanksgiving, HCA partnered with StreetWise Ministries headed by Terry Powell and collected Thanksgiving meals for families in need. On Saturday, Dec. 17, HCA hosted a Birthday Party for Jesus in cooperation with Streetwise Ministries where many toys were distributed.” 

This is Anderson’s 20th year in education, and his 11th at the administrative level. Before Hebron, he was at Landmark Christian School where he served in multiple positions. He was high school principal, middle school principal, and dean of students. Prior to Landmark, he worked at Woodward Academy for twelve years. For the last six of those years, he was assistant dean of students. He also earned a doctorate in 2009 in educational leadership.

“I am very grateful to the mentors who have invested in my life and career,” he said thankfully. 

But it is not just all about academics for Anderson, he also has a passion for sports. In addition to his position at Woodward, Anderson started and coached the girl’s fastpitch program for eight years. He was also head baseball coach for three years before he moved into administration.

“I always thought I would be a professional baseball player,” he admitted. “However, the Lord had different plans for my life. I entered the educational field so I could positively impact the lives of young people.”

Anderson and his family love the Dacula area, and say they feel at home here. He is married to Julie, his bride of 18 years. They have three daughters: Rae Anne, sixth grade; Analiese, fourth grade; and Brialyn, second grade. All of their girls attend Hebron Christian Academy.

“The community and the people in it are very friendly and have welcomed us with open arms,” he said. “I am grateful to those from , Pastor Kevin Miller, Administrative Pastor David Baker, Rev. Chip Cranford and our Sunday school teachers Ron and Pat Riley who have made us feel at home and welcomed.”

Anderson continues to become more ingrained in the community, and looks forward to a bright future in Dacula.

“I look forward to continuing the good work the Lord has begun at Hebron Christian Academy,” Anderson said. “It is my desire to continue to provide a first class education to our students so they can enter post-secondary education well prepared to continue their education for the purpose the Lord has for them in their lives.”
