Hometown Rivalry Game, Community Fun Day and More

A quick look at what's up this weekend in our hometown of Dacula.

We can’t have a weekend planner without mentioning the big game this Friday night, Aug. 26. The will travel across town to take on the in high school football action. Whether you cheer for the Falcons or the Hawks this is a hometown rival game you don’t want to miss. Game time 7:30 p.m.

It’s not right here in Dacula proper but how often do you get the opportunity to camp out on a baseball field? Families can pack their tents and spend the night at Coolray Field, home of the Gwinnett Braves. Camp out activities begin around 9 p.m. on Aug. 26 right after the Friday night game as the at 7:05 p.m. The campout will include lots of games and activities including a movie on the big screen.

Dacula residents can take their children to the on Saturday, Aug. 17 beginning at 10:30 a.m. to read with the dogs.  This special time with trained dogs will encourage reading in school age children.

Victorious Living Church and are hosting a community fun day on Saturday, Aug. 27 from noon until 4 p.m. The Dacula community is invited to stop by and enjoy free food, fun and games. The first 50 families in attendance will receive a free gift.

If you or someone you know is an educator don’t miss Educator Appreciation Day at Educators will be honored at worship services on Sunday, Aug. 28 at the 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. services.
