Melting Ice: Ronald Reagan Parkway Now Open

But county bus service was still being impacted.

Ronald Reagan Parkway, the frequently used thoroughfare that connects Pleasant Hill Road to Scenic Highway, was opened to traffic Thursday morning, according to Gwinnett County officials.

The road, which is quickest route from the Lawrenceville/Lilburn area to Snellville, had been closed due to icy conditions since later Tuesday.

The biggest impact area in the aftermath of the snow storm is the Gwinnett County Transit System, which reports:

Gwinnett County Transit is not running express service today and started running all local routes, except Local Route 35, at noon. We will continue to monitor road conditions on Local Route 35 throughout the day. Paratransit service limited to only scheduled dialysis trips. Please stay tuned to www.gctransit.com or through Customer Service at 770.822.5010 for up-to-date schedule information.
