'Mother’s Morning Out' Director Has a Special Heart for Little Ones

Heather McCreary is excited about leading the "Mother's Morning Out" program at Hamilton Mill United Methodist Church.

Heather McCreary is  new "Mother’s Morning Out" (MMO) director. The program not only provides a safe and loving place for little ones in our area, it also provides a nice break for busy parents in our community.

“We are a loving environment for children that gives moms and dads the opportunity to get some things done while they know their children are in a safe place, and that they will be learning about God,” McCreary said. “We are a program for ages 12 months to ages 2-years-old. We offer a two day–a-week class, Mondays and Wednesdays or Tuesdays and Thursdays.”

Heather McCreary is looking forward to continuing this well-know community Christian program.

“We already have a great staff on board who definitely love children and have a great love of God,” she said. “My goal is to just continue the great program that has already been started here, and I hope to add some additional programming as well."

The MMO program is a great way to introduce toddlers to the preschool program that they might attend in a few short years.

“The kids have a very typical preschool day here,” McCreary explained. “They each lunch, they have music and movement each week, they have outside time, circle time with books read to them, and they talk about their colors and shapes too.”

McCreary is excited about her new position because she believes the Hamilton Mill Mother’s Morning Out program stands out above other childcare options in our community.

“What puts us above other facilities is the love for Jesus and children that our staff has,” she explained. “They go through training every year, and they are all safety certified in CPR and First Aid. The staff that we have loves and nurtures our children. This is a very caring environment.”

McCreary has high expectations for the program and is dedicated to each and every child that attends the MMO program.

“I hope that our children learn that it is safe to be away from mom and dad,” she said, “that they have a good time while they are here, and know that they are loved at Mother’s Morning Out and in the nursery setting. I hope that this will be an experience where they know that they are nurtured and loved, and have fun playing with kids their same age.”

The Hamilton Mill UMC Mother’s Morning Out program currently has spots available in each of their age groups; 12 to 18 months old, 19 to 23 months old, and in the 2-year-old class. For more information or to register your child, please email Heather McCreary at heather.mccreary@hmumc.org or call the preschool at 770.271.8855 ext 302.
