The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for most of northern and central Georgia, including all Patch communities.
The watch is in effect until 11 p.m.
Counties included in the watch are: Barrow, Bartow, Cherokee, Clarke, Cobb, DeKalb, Douglas, Forsyth, Fulton, Gwinnett, Oconee, Paulding, and Walton.
The weather service said isolated sever storms are expected later this afternoon and into the evening. The main threats will be damaging winds, lightning and small hail. The tornado threat is low.
