Weekend Planner: Toga Party, Family Night and Architect Adventures

A quick look at what's up this weekend in our hometown of Dacula.

Drop by and enjoy the live music of Sarah Peacock.  Peacock performs pop country songs with a similar style to Heart’s Ann Wilson. Music is free to enjoy and food and drink items are available to purchase. Live entertainment begins at 7 p.m on Friday, Aug. 19.

The Atlanta Chapter of the American Institute of Architects will stop in Dacula on Saturday, Aug. 20. The volunteer tour committee will be present and offering guided tours at the. The purpose of this group is to educate the public about the architecture profession and highlight significant projects in or near the Atlanta area. Tours typically run from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m.

Everyone is invited to Family Dinner Night at the on Saturday, Aug. 20.  Take part in this fundraiser hosted by the MOMS Club of Dacula-Central to benefit the Gwinnett Children’s Shelter. There will be music, fun and food. Sonic will donate 10 percent of all sales made between the hours of 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. to the shelter.

When was the last time you put on a TOGA? I hope it still fits because is throwing a toga party on Saturday, Aug. 20 starting at 8:30 p.m. There will be live music provided by the band Full Frontal and prizes awarded for the best toga, best couples toga and most unique toga. Please note that cover charges will apply starting at 10 p.m.

Children and families are invited to attend the FX Live Family Experience at on Sunday evening Aug. 21. This exciting and interactive multi-media worship experience begins at 6:30 p.m.
