MISS MEMORIAL DAY SCHOLARSHIP PAGEANT- YOUTH
The 2011 Miss Memorial Day YOUTH and MISS Pageants are now accepting applications on-line at Daculamemorialday.com for the 6th annual Miss Memorial Day Pageant that crowns the Official Dacula Memorial Day Queens. The Miss Memorial Day Queens are the official queens for the Dacula Memorial Day Parade held each year on Memorial Day in the City of Dacula. Parade goers can meet the queens at their Festival booth after the parade.
Girls from birth through 8 years old can find out more information at Missmemorialday.com. Interested families can download the 2011 pageant application at Daculamemorialday.com and click on the PAGEANT file. All female residents of Georgia are invited to apply for the April 30th pageant. The YOUTH pageant is held in the afternoon beginning at 3pm. Both pageant are held at Hamilton Mill in Gwinnett County in the town a dynamic town of Dacula. The MISS pageant, for girls 9-23 years old, is held later that evening at the beautiful Hamilton Mill Lakeview Grand Ballroom. The annual patriotic pageant offers its contestants involvement in the 2011 Dacula Memorial Day Parade as well as Government Day,Stars and Strikes Day, and involvement in two patriotic service projects during their year . The youth contestants compete in a Red White and Blue Fashion Opening Number and Beauty. The MISS contestants compete in the Red White and Blue Fashion Opening Number, Introduction, and Beauty. The MISS contestants, aged 17 and up, will also have a 4 minute interview with the judges the day of the pageant. Along with our 8 Queen titles, we also award the following titles;
Miss Patriotism-Over All Pageant Winner (highest score by being involved in every area of pageant- all extra categories)

Each year the pageant chooses a charity to support. Past organizations that have enjoyed the financial support of the Miss Memorial Day Pageant have been; ADOPT-A-PLATOON, Friends of the Mansion, "Yes Sir, Sergeant!", and Patriotic Pen Pals. "We are considering the national program, Wounded Warrior, for our service project this year" said Cynthia Montgomery, Director of the patriotic pageant.
